About Springthrough

The people behind the work.

We've been building software and running IT out of Grand Rapids for 25 years. Same company, mostly the same people, still doing the work ourselves.

Why we still do this, 25 years in.

01 / WHO WE ARE

Springthrough started in 2000 with a pretty basic idea: build the kind of consultancy our clients actually wanted to work with. No handoffs to an offshore B-team after the sales pitch. No pretending a six-month engagement is a partnership. Just sharp people doing the work, in the room, for as long as you need them.

Most of our clients have been with us for 5, 10, 15 years. That's not because we're a habit. It's because good technology work is slow, specific, and mostly unglamorous. Someone has to run the upgrade on a Saturday. Someone has to read the 40-page RFP. Someone has to tell you the roadmap you paid for last year needs a serious edit. We like being the people who show up for that.

We work best with teams who think of technology as a place where real decisions get made, not as a cost center to minimize. If that sounds like you, the rest of this page is the crew you'd be working with.

The short version

Seasoned team, long tenure, one time zone. When you call, you get a person who knows your environment. When a project kicks off, you meet the actual humans doing the work. When something goes wrong, you hear about it from us first.

That's the whole operating model.

Leadership.

02 / THE TEAM
Mike Williams, CEO of Springthrough

Mike Williams

CEO

Mike has been running Springthrough since day one. He's the person who answers the phone when a long-time client calls with a hard problem, and he still reviews proposals himself.

Gary VanderPloeg, COO of Springthrough

Gary VanderPloeg

COO

Gary runs the operations side of the house. If a project is going sideways, Gary is usually the one who spots it first and quietly puts it back on track before anyone panics.

Eric Spencer, VP of Architecture at Springthrough

Eric Spencer

VP of Architecture

Eric is the one keeping the architectural bets sane. 20 years into Sitefinity, he still opens the IDE most weeks and cares about the part of the stack nobody sees until it breaks.

Mark Davidson, VP of Professional Services at Springthrough

Mark Davidson

VP of Professional Services

Mark owns the delivery side, which mostly means making sure the people doing the work have what they need and the people paying for it know where they stand.

Zachary Will, Director of IT Services at Springthrough

Zachary Will

Director of IT Services

Zach runs our managed IT practice. He's the reason the help desk actually feels like help, and why our clients sleep through patch Tuesday.

Scott Montgomery, Director of Security at Springthrough

Scott Montgomery

Director of Security

Scott heads our security practice. He's the calm voice in the room when something smells off at 2am, and the one making sure we don't get there in the first place.

Helen Hill, Client Experience Manager at Springthrough

Helen Hill

Client Experience Manager

Helen is the person your account talks to most. She keeps the communication rhythm steady, the surprises rare, and the relationships human.
